    Bud Growth!

I grew quiet a few plants this year & i had 5 that were the alaskin ice that were huge i'd say they were 20 foot hight or 22 foot & even the ak47 purple haze and A.M.S.They all seem to grow well nothing out of ordinary but all my plants seem to have huge colas buds at the end of the limbs & the rest of the plants was like a bud here and there on the limb.I did ok but the ice was suppose to produce around 800 g's to 1200 per plant but that was way off.I figure out all my plants i grossed 2 1/2 pds off all of it.I had 11 plants in al,so i was disapointed in the weight i was pleased on the buzz of it.The ice is amazing high.So what am i doing to get so little bud on the limbs & the other parts of the plants.Thet don't seem to completely fill out.I use great soil mixture & i deed it fox farm ferts & i topped it atleast 4 to 5 times to make runners.Thx for any info.

I think you topped it too much, it put all the plant's growing energy into the terminal branches and that translated into mostly colas for you. Maybe next time top it 2 times max and if you need more training you can bend the branches out with stakes. Also 20' high? I've never heard of that unless you live on the equator and veg for like 10 months...

Oh I've seen better but can't find it anymore. It was a pic from South Africa where the plant was next to a house and just dwarfed the building! Equatorial regions get more intense light and a longer veg period so you can just imagine what's really out there somewhere...

Equatorial areas do get more intense light but they do not get a longer veg period. Close to the equator the day length doesn't vary much from 12/12 year round, so there really isn't any veg period at all.

To get the large plants you need to grow sativas that will continue to gain height as they flower and flower for a long period. Classic SE Asian sativas can take between 14 and 20+ wks to complete flowering. Many don't actually ever stop pushing out new flowers (called intermediate flowering), you just cut them down before the wet season brings on the mould.

Oops, thanks for the correction Sarah! I think I've heard of that intermediate flowering, sounds awesome if I lived somewhere that I could grow a monster like that! You can keep it going like that for years with proper care right? Now that would be awesome...truly perpetual grow with only one plant

Hiya Midniter, Without seeing any pic's i will first ask if you kept the fan leaves cut off of them as that would surly make the plants not to produce..

I mean 20ft plants should have had a LB a piece..Just my thoughts, i have always grown outdoors and now trying to learn about indoor growing..

Would like to see some pic's tho as i never seen such size plants produce so little.. :wtf:
