Water cooled AC, room chillers, heat exchangers
Anyone have any info on running a watercooled ac or room chiller?
I read that the 3 fan room chillers work good but use alot of water. The watercooled acs use water but not as much.
A natural water source like a river or stream would be perfect, but does anyone know how much they cost on average to run off of town water? If the hoods were vented well the room chiller wouldnt have to run as much.lucifus Reviewed by lucifus on . The amount of water used will depend on your temperature and natural humidity. They are good for getting a higher humidity in arid areas or during winter when all the moisture in the air freezes and falls in the driveway. They also use way less electric than a compressor driven A/C. The water line to a large one is the size of an ice-maker for a fridge, so not much flow. We had a portable one in Arizona (for house cooling). We were off the grid (solar panels and batteries) so only running 1 fairly small motor was nice (pump ran from fan motor). We rolled it over to the kitchen sink and filled it about once a day from the sink sprayer.

i think what u are talking about is a swamp cooler that blows air across pads dampened by water using evaporative cooling. The water cooled AC and room chillers use cold water flowing through copper tubing like a radiator with a fan blowing air through the coiled tubes.
