I will admit I find some of the scams going on out there quite disheartening. The doctor who I went to seamed to be disinterested in who my CG was. They did recommend a couple of dispenaries. However when they asked who my CG was going to be, I said myself. All they said was OK.

I was told later by a friend that two of the people in the office DID own at least one dispensary and maybe three!

So I'd have to think they were in it for the right reasons. If they were in it to just get my growing rights, I'm sure they'd have been more persistent about me signing my rights to them(which they never even asked). Or at least really trying to get me to their dispensories(which they barely mentioned).

I HAVE wondered what it is the doctor was getting out of these "pop up" clinics. I figure,...

A. He/She's either a doctor on the verge of no employment(Frank Burns type).

B. A doctor who is getting a $100 fee for little more then saying YEP and having you sign a no liability waver to cover their butt better then ANY regular doctor visit could. So, no chance of any sueing, no insurance paperwork, No X-rays or other "normal" crud the doctors usually have to put up with or pay out the who ha for. NOT TO MENTION,.. It's the dispenary who paying the rent and doing all the advertising.

Or,.. Now that you mention it.

C. MAYBE a dispensary kick back.

D. Lastly their may be some doctors who just believe in this as a great herbal remedy! :thumbsup:

I've personally been leaning toward the easy NON-liable $100 multiplied by 100-300 per day!!

There is no doubt there ARE scams going on. Many people are signing their growing rights over just to save $30-$40 a month or less! OR the guy who called into Tom Martino's radio show. Who Tom asked,.. What did you get the license for? He replied "$75.00". :wtf: Showing HE recieved his license WITHOUT much "Medical" reason, AND that whomever wrote his recommendation didn't really care much about a medical reason.

We can all hope this doctor is simply aware that this works on far more then just pain. :thumbsup: But I doubt that is always the case!

I keep in mind that MANY of the good growers WERE illegal before this all came to pass. We ALL owe our ability to even get decent meds to people who (if caught) would have been felons just a few months ago. We all know why many people have ALWAYS gotten into this buisness. Because there is a market! Some of those people did it JUST for the money. Making their chosen job legal just brought some of that scum to the surface (as we should have expected).

I am completely against government regulation as well. I fully believe the people will vote with their doller and most of the scum will be pushed aside quite quickly. I'm fine with the state or city/county taxing it. However I find Romers proposal to allow the IRS(A privately owned cartel) to keep detailed records of all sales horrendous! They have NO place in any of this!

Beyond all of that, ALL industry ALWAYS have some scum (see Walmart). Our job is to see our friends and family don't support those with questionable motives, AND to try and assist those who ARE in it for the right reasons. New scum WILL rise! However with the right to free speech, most will fall to the way side.
