Kandy Kush (fem) & Blue Widow (fem)
Well, it's been awhile. Sometimes life gets in the way, I'm sure ya'll can relate. I reckon a lil' smoke-report is in order.

The Blue Widow is some good medicine. It loses a little of the White Widow "punch", but the Blueberry smoothness makes for a nice smoke.
With a 45-day cure, this was one of the smoothest-smoking Widow crosses I've personally sampled. Taste is sort of an earthy, hashy-blueberry. Very pleasant tasting. Harvested at 5-10% amber, effective for appetite stimulation and relaxation/anti-anxiety. Quite manageable, this medicine won't completely disassemble you.
Kandy Kush is IMO, spectacular. I think the proper term is "FIRE".
The Reserva Privada cross between TW and OG, is something to try. Highly recommended.:thumbsup:
The KK got a 60-day jar cure, though I didn't detect much change after about 30 days. The sweet smell is overpowering. A sweet, dank, fruity, earthy goodness fills the room as soon as ya crack the jar.
(An elderly patient made the comment:"It smells like an angels armpit!") :angelsmiley:
The smoke is sharp and fruity, OG sweetness with a tart finish. It tastes sooo good that it's easy to take too big of a hit,...there may be coughing.
Go easy on the KK, even at less than 10% amber, she'll make ya pretty stupid if ya overdo it.
Made some "Firecrackers" and the taste is very mild, good medicine for edibles.
This run sold me on KK, she's a keeper. BW didn't make the cut as a mom, though I would certainly grow it again.
Killa, just to report on the PWx(PKxPR).
Planted all 10, got a few rather weird mutants that didn't do much, grew to about 6" and on the third set of true leaves,...the growing tip just stopped. :weedpoke:
I could make out the tiny developing tip, but all vertical growth seemed to have nearly stopped. Of the other seven, five turned out males. I collected pollen from two that showed some promising early purple coloration.
Of the two females, neither shows strong color. I've got one almost done (7 1/2 weeks), she's putting on a nice-lookin' Cola for being the youngest, smallest plant in the tent.
Gonna run the PKxPR F2s' next round, with a packet of DJ Short Grape Krush. Going it "old-school" next run, no fem beans. Crossing my fingers for some color.
My whole "purple" excursion in the tent was a bit of a bust, color-wise.
Ceres' Seeds Purple (fem) appears to be a good producer, but didn't deliver on color for me.
Dutch Passion Purple (fem) was an unmitigated disaster. :wtf: I still have 4 more of these beans, so I'll give them another chance, but this plant is my most disappointing *ever*. Grew well, didn't appear to be having any issues, but at 6 weeks flower, she _erupted_ into the worst case of hermaphroditism ever. Top to bottom, every bud, to some degree. Yanked her out of there. These are gonna be some of the worst "air-buds" ever. There's decent trich production, but these buds didn't fill out at all.
Looks like a big ol' batch of brownies in the future.
Disclaimer: I'm not griping about the DP Purple bean, as sometimes...$hit happens. This run included the (over)application :glugglug
f Bushmaster, so the Dutch Passion plant may have reacted negatively, I dunno. Better luck next run,... I hope.

Here's a look at the BW, KK and the X2 coming out of the jars, in natural sunlight, with flash.

Looking sweet EC. Did you grow the KK the same way this time? It looks nice.
Like the coloring on that X2 bud. Hairy buggers! :smokin:

They were clones taken ~4th week flower and were pretty branchy to begin with, so I didn't top them as I intended. There were at least 6 tips on each. Last run there was the one KK, this time there are four, and it has been a pain. The stems need help, so the tent is a tangle of support wires running all over. Moving a plant is out of the question. Sucks.

Someone suggested using a silica additive to beef up the stems, I may try that. I'm open to suggestions. Love the strain, but would like to make growing it a lil' less labor-intensive.
