Bush was riding the Post 9/11, slaughter al queda by any means necessary wave. Bush was loved and hated in every state...not just blue ones. Love him or hate him, the guy got more individual votes than any candidate in history I think.....I didnt vote for him but thats impressive. Whats a blue state anyway? Beats me. Obama still has plenty of time to redirect his objectives and lead from a more center appraoch and win re-election....3 years is a long time and ALOT can happen. The Democrats will be hammered in the midterms no doubt, punishment for selling out their base with Afghanistan and Iraq and Gay issues.
