It probably just flowered because it finally matured enough to flower. Sounds pretty cool how it survived between the walls as you speak. If it gets light and stays warm enough it should give you a few grams, but that's with minimal care, I mean if you put it under a big lamp and timer and the whole works maybe you'd get something worthwhile. But even with all that you still got months to go. It's a cool story.
