You are being very generous with the amount allowed for the ballast, my 400 HPS only pulls a total of 410 watts. It would need to be among the worlds worst ballasts to consume an extra 50!
I appreciate the feedback my friends....I was just paranoid on to HOW much extra it would cost a month. Was expecting a lot more before I did the math. I need to keep that conversion chart for later references!

must spread some reputation around before giving it to Dutch and EvilC again!
Italiano715 Reviewed by Italiano715 on . 430W HPS Electricty Cost Question! Alright, so I have had this 430W HPS laying around for a few months and have just really thought about using it. Problem comes with electricity costs. So I found a conversion table for the cost and did the numbers. Now I sha'll put them down here and can somebody please confirm or correct me if I'm right/wrong. Alright....Well I checked the recent light bill and I used 742kw hours this month and the bill was $102. So, I divided the 102 into the 742 and it came out to .137 rounded to .14. Rating: 5
