    Quick coco question (alliteration baby)

:wtf: I just bought a Natural coco brick, not the mixed brick...is it necessary that I mix it with another medium to assist aeration?

    Unless that coco's from Kokomoko,
Addin' stuff is jus' plain loco.
    (doggerel baby)

Seriously, there have been side by side grows with and without perlite added.
    It was not needed.
Nor is gravel in the bottom.

Drainage and tilth are near perfect with quality, (I prefer Botanicare), coco coir.

I will advise that there are different brands and that some coco is unrinsed.
That "natural", on da label worries me.
If you don't have a ppm meter to test the first run-off water, the easy test is to taste it.
If there is any saltiness, flush with plenty of water before using.

You will need calmag in any case as coco has none.
Add a tsp. per gallon and maybe 1/4 tsp. nutes to the water you use to expand the brick.
Adjust the water PH to between 5.2 and 6.4 and never let it dry out completely.
Then stand back, weed loves coco.

    Aloha

Thanks Lil Weez'ard...lol...you continuously cause crippling cackles with your ticklish verbiage....all over these boards.

Hot bidness, the package does specifically mention salt content. I would have never thought of CalMag having been influenced by the assumption that Superthrive solves all deficiencies.

    This is Gen Hydro Coco.

Weed loves Coco and I think it loves Rose food 18-24-16...i wont know til these 'speriments are done. Imma try these biogel crystals/magic mud water absorbing polymer beads also....

nonono...not on the good stuff, on old bag seed.
Imma go traditional on the Bubble and Widow..

    Much appreciated homeslice.

Um, don't shoot da messenger but superthrive is composed mostly of hyperbole.
My side by side tests showed no advantage.

Suggest you google "Linda Chalker-Scott " Horticultural myths.
    Before adding biogel to anything.

Well, have fun, but, IMO, that's the last thing coco needs.

But, what da heck, 'sonly bag seed, yah?:rastasmoke:
And, it's an experiment I have not seen, yet.
Perhaps you could do us a solid and make a side by side with and without biogel.
    That, I'd like to see

Maybe S-b-S a Superthrive grow as well, eh?
