    Newbie with a few questions

In the process of getting my card in the greater Portland area, and had a few questions.

Are there dispensaries on the west side? Like Hillsboro, Aloha, Beaverton etc.?

What are the prices like there?

If you have a caregiver grow for you, are they supposed to give you the MMJ for free, or do you pay them for it?

Will having a MMJ card make it harder to qualify for certain insurances such as health and life?

At the dispensaries what "forms" does the MMJ come in?
I presume, there is regulat marijuana, pills... what else? and what is the "healthiest" way to take MMJ?

    Thanks!

    1. Don't know about dispensaries as I grow my own.
    2. A care giver can not sell anything. It is all freebie or it is considered breaking the law.
    3. Nobody knows about your card unless you tell them so the answer is no, it does not affect your insurance in any way. And the state can not tell anyone you have it either. They can tell the police ONLY if a valid request is made to verify you are a MMJ patient or grower. And that is only if you get in trouble while dispensing/using/transporting.

great thanks for the answers. someone told me today that there are no dispensaries in Oregon, because they are not legal in Oregon as of yet.

Curious then where would you go to get other forms of MMJ such as pills, topical, oils, etc...

Some clinics have co-op dispensaries and some growers do too. You don't usually pay directly for the medicine but you donate money the the growing and cultivation of the medicine and in return you get part of the medicine.

It's usually not a good idea to discuss the costs associated with the co-op online. If you're asking someone "how do I buy pot and how much is it going to cost" you'll probably never get a straight answer.

If you're looking for a provider you should consider attending a NORML meeting. Any of the local clinics can help you find out where and when the meetings are.

Some clinics also offer wellness meetings where you can pay a fee to learn more about how to acquire and use medicine.
