    My Loss of Faith

I used to be very religious. I even married a lady that used to be a nun. Now I can't stomach the thought of it all.
Look in the eyes of a starving, dying child. Is there God? The child prays every night for nothing more than simple food. Does God answer?

If God can't answer the most simple prayer of a dying child, why would he give a fuck about anything I pray about?

If God can't protect the weakest of us all, how could we say any of us are cared for by a loving god?

I've fallen from faith and no amount of biblical teaching can make me return.

Maybe the question isn't how can you believe in a god....but how do you believe in mankind who willingly lets those children die everyday?

Just a thought. Good luck with your choice, hope nothing happens when you die. Isnt that what agnostics and atheists believe? Whatever, to each his own.

I think he stated his question well. We know why mankind lets these things happen, question is why would a loving god?

God doesn't necassarly let this happen. He gave people the freedom of choice and reason. People over time have just let the world get like this. and it's obviously not Gods fault but OUR own, you dumbass!

I am sorry for the loss of your faith, but everyone will come to their own conclusions about things not matter what. I just hope things in your life help guide you back to God. We can not hope to understand everything that God does and the reasons for these events or actions. All we can do is pray and know that in the end their will be no suffering for that starving child or mourning mother.

Was that an apology? It sure doesn't sound like one. Sounds more like a rationalization. Just saying . . .

My question/comment was not about what man does to man, but why would a loving god allow such things to happen to those who have no ability to make a choice to do harm?

A child is guilty of nothing. All a child can do is pray. And what does God do for them?

To say God would listen to petty prayers of an adult and ignore the prayers of an innocent child defeats Gods first tenant, to protect them "bring me your weak and huddled masses"
