So i was at my house minding my own buissness and my 2 friends show up. We get to burnin down and i run in to grab some munchie and i come back outsitde. I see lights at the end of my driveway and of course its the cops. They told me kids were on bikes and they think that the were fuckin up christmas lights. I said i didnt see anything. They asked who was behind my barn and i tell them and my two buddys come up. Apparently they were riding bikes over to my house but the cops believed that they didnt vandalize the christmas lights but just asked when they came over what they were saying if the saw anybody. Then they said they were satisfied and the question came up. WHERES THE WEED GUYS? i smell it. I claimed it might just be a smell on my coat i sad i hadnt smoked. They asked if they could search us And im just like thats kinda disrespectful and my buddies start saying that theres no reason and they should just take his word for it.. They screamed at me to put my hands behind my back when i was tying my shoe and found a .5 bag of sour d in my pocket. THey arrest me take me to the station and make me pay 200 bond to get out or they were gonna send me to county. I only had 170 but they let me out anyways and i have to pay the rest. Is that not fucked up and howd they charge me on my own property. Did they have probable cause? and also i was charged with drug abuse instead of possession does anybody have an opinion on this>???

You got worked by the uglier aspects of our Nation's "guardians". If you had the money and time, yeah, you might be able to make a case for a lawsuit. Winning that would require a sly lawyer and a judge who isn't a hard ass on Stage 1 Narcotics. Sadly, you learned the way our "police" work in the negative end of probability.

As far as probable cause....that is a grey area man. Yes they had probable cause the moment they decided to show up at your house and question you. They had probably cause before that when they were in the Donut shop and started to feel a little bored. They had probable cause when one of them woke up after a bad night with his wife and decided to prove to the world what a big "gun" he had. You catch my drift? Any notions that most "Police" are going to protect and serve should be left to the realm of naivety.

I feel for your situation. I hope it opens your eyes a bit to the way "Law" ( I know I use a lot of quotation marks...it's just that anything in the world of politics or law deserves them ). I began my young life as an ardent believer in Democracy, Western Industrialization, and Law. Then I studied History, Law, Socialism, and began to see the picture unfold. That coupled with personal experience has shown me a lot more. Whether or not my picture of how things work is right or wrong....meh, who knows. It's my experience, and I hope that your experience has taught you a great deal! Love to you mate! :detective1:

Heh, yeah, better sarcasm can not be put across with typed words. After reading enough dogmatic crap from school, and then having the freedom of mind to do my own research, I discovered that most governments are the same. They do just what the Greek roots of the word say they should: Govern = control, mente = mind.

I feel that if more humans felt able to own up to the responsibility of being alive and present, they would question to a much larger degree. This would lead to social movement. I wish picketing, and rioting, etc. did something useful, but so far it just riles up the folks who were already riled. Socialism has shown me that humans are still stuck in a dysfunctional tribal modality in which, at least in Western society, we can even keep our tribes distant from each other, and isolated in boxes, and yet still remain in contact with one another. We achieve our fireside time with a flickering television, our stories of hero's require no imagination now, they are spoonfed to us. The need for an imaginative realm, or even an active dream life is snatched away in favor of an "easier" thoughtless way. Race issues are still huge, now they are just well isolated in ghetto's, and drugs and gang life keep most people raised in those worlds stuck there. Those who do get out tend to be massive achiever's, due to the force of will it takes to remove oneself from such an entrenched tribal pattern.

Read Human Action by Ludwig von Mises, or The Road to Serfdom by Friedrich Hayek. My right to scoff at the content of your post does not give rise to an obligation to educate you. Do it yourself.

Thank you, I will make time to open up my ideas, and concepts. Perhaps I will scoff my own post and discover an obligation to teach myself more. What a wonder.......

the great thing about the buckeye state is that pot laws were made more leniant a few years ago, still along way from decrimalized, but possesion of pariphinalia is way worse than have a bag.

i went thru all that for my third time a couple years ago and the worst that happened was payin all the fines and my car was impounded. bythe time it was said and done cost me well over 5 grand for a pipe and half a gram. oh and you also get your drivers liscense suspended for 6 months

Wow, the same cost me a night in lockup, $1100 & 12 month revocation of license, plus $80 impound fee. Thats in the grand canyon state though, & first offense you can choose 6 months of random drug tests, fine, or go to court. Second offense is just fine or court. Either tests or fine drops it to a class 1 misdemeanor but if a car is involved its still a felony DUI if you're intoxicated. Pot laws aren't changing because of the Mexican border being so close & DUI laws are progressively getting worse...All that means is that almost half of the inmates here are nonviolent drug offenders that should be sent to some sort of rehab program, but instead are rotting away in overcrowded jails or tents in the desert with no A/C. Oh, & they have to wear pink underwear & socks with their stripes & crocks...Gotta love the law
