Is it that big of a deal of you keep the top on when you microwave? Also, is there a maximum amount of times you can heat it? Sorry I'm a noob.

Is it that big of a deal of you keep the top on when you microwave?

When microwaving the QF, back off on the cap a thread or so (if your using the plain cap) or if youre using the "flip squirt" cap, flip the spout open. That way it keeps the bottle de-pressurized during the heating. Dont forget to close it back up before crotching/stashing.

Also, is there a maximum amount of times you can heat it?

Nope. The QF can be heated and reheated over and over without harming its effectiveness.
