Well, if your balcony light is bright enough on the plant, maybe that would work to prevent flowering.

Is the plant right under the light? How bright is it?

Would you be safe with a plant there?

EDIT: if your plants are planted in the yard, your balcony light's prolly not gonna make this happen.
