R.I.P. John Paul IIDo not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there... I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow...
I am the diamond glints on snow...
I am the sunlight on ripened grain...
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you waken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of gentle birds in circling flight...
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cryâ??

R.I.P. John Paul IIThe Pope was a great great man, a man who lived for god and for us all. May he rest in peace

R.I.P. John Paul IIDrogheda, Co.Louth by the roadside.
This is the exact spot where September 29th, 1979
 He asked for an end to the troubles;

"On my knees I beg you to turn away from the paths of violence and to return to the ways of peace....Violence only delays the day of justice....Further violence in Ireland will only drag down to ruin the land you claim to love and the values you claim to cherish. In the name of God I beg you...."

R.I.P. John Paul IIThough I'm not particularly relegious, I think its fantastic that the leaders of countries have come together to celebrate the life of a man who clearly made a difference, even countries that didn't get on.

I'm sure there's a message there somewhere about world peace

R.I.P. John Paul IIIncidently, is anyone aware of the complete irony of Prince Charles being there ? You know, a decendant of Henry the 8th?

 R.I.P. John Paul IIHey all,

I grew up Catholic and have long since left the church. What I don't get is the lack of outcry given that the sex abuse was going on during his watch. Instead of dealing with it, everything was status quo. Send the offender to a new church. The set up is better than the witness protection program.

I have children and it makes me sick. The Pope it the sex abuse scandal is like a principal of a school that knows one of the teachers is violating a child but does nothing or just transfers the problem.

Would you look back on that principal and say what a great educator and person? I wouldn't and that's why I don't get the fact that it's so taboo to associate the Pope with the scandal and cover-up while he was captain of the ship. In the military they hold the top guy accountable.

 Can anyone enlighten me?

R.I.P. John Paul IIWow, that's ignorant. Funny how the House of Saxe-Coburg-Windsor and the Stuarts, and oh wait, the House of Hanover too are just skipped over in that comment. Originally Posted by Funken Monken Originally Posted by Funken Monken
