I think its more likely we'll replace more and more of our organs and functions(in our body) with machines and thus become the machines ourselves. But hey its all speculation so why not?

ok so my thought is on Artificial intelligence. First one must define intelligence. The ability to synthesize new information without it being programmed previously is my interpretation on the definition of intelligence ( in a human aspect intelligence is far different from comprehension. cpu's nowadays comprehend). If something can synthesize new information than why can't it sythesze the thought that it may be able to have all the power in the world. Or maybe synthesize the idea that in order for the robots to survive, humans need to stop fucking up our earth and causing to much waste so therefore, take out the humans.

Sony incorporated has a new robot named curio that it is in the early stages of production on. The robot is able to search the internet for new knowledge. Is this not intelligence since the internet is a constant sourse of synthesis? From ourselves???

Thats an interesting point. I guess maybe your right, what would stop them from forming human thoughts and emotions (i.e. greed and power-hunger). By the looks of it though we are not going to see that level of intelligence in our lifetimes, so I am not overly worried. Maybe we can make the robots susceptible to THC? Then there will be no need for celebration, just plenty of Doritos.

yea stedric you rock man. that was a great response!! but unfortunately.... robots don't have lungs..... However, on a more serious note, you say that we won't see tht kinda intelligence in our liftimes? Well guess what the average number of years between the publics present technology and the governments.



SEVEN. That means that seven years ago, some fuckhead was playing around with a camera phone or something much more extravagent (i'm high as gas and just watched terminator 3 if this explains something).

That is a scary fact for me. tht means that whatever we have right now to dick around with and marvel at the govt knew about it seven years ago.
