I believe you're right. Unfortunately, we'll stop using fossil fuels when the last drop of fuel comes out of the last pump on earth and the oil companies have to go to something else.

As it stands, every patent for alternatives or ways to burn less fuel have been and will continue to be bought up and shelved by big oil.
