I've had a herbalAire for years, as well as other models, and have had no ill effects at all from using it. Nor have I ever heard anyone else complain about it. I think the chance that this model is making you sick is slim to none.

It appears that it still cooks while sitting between bags or whip draws
Any vape provides a certain amount of ambient heat when herb is sitting in a hot bowl.
