    Questions about RN/LMHC medical records

    Hi all,

Recently I was diagnosed with severe depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress syndrome. However, all of my medical records and documentation about my conditions have been done either by an RN (for scripts) and a licensed mental health counselor. I'm very interested in getting medical marijuana to help me with my condition as I've lost a lot of weight and have horrible insomnia. The anti-depressants have done wonders for my depression however the anti-anxiety drugs are "evil". They take aways the symptoms but when I stop taking them I have horrible insomnia, night sweats, nausea, etc... I'm not a huge fan of prescription meds but since my system was severely depressed I welcomed the anti-depressant. So my question is since my medical records for these conditions are with an RN and LMHC and not an MD or DO...am I going to have to see an MD or DO to get the right records for me to apply for my MMJ card? Many thanks for any advice or help.

    Questions about RN/LMHC medical records

    Hi ShedToker

    Welcome to the forum!!!

    RCW 69.51A.010 Definitions.
    (3) ā??Qualifying patientā? means a person who:
    (a) Is a patient of a physician licensed under chapter
    18.71 or 18.57 RCW;

You will need to see a DR.

Also Depression is NOT a qualifying condition, but the eating disorder may be.

GO see a DR., and GOOD LUCK!!!:hippy:

    Questions about RN/LMHC medical records

Hello shedtoker, yes your eating disorder is covered under our state statute of RCW 69.51A et. seq., you will find it under the last listed conditions of "DISEASES" which include anorexia and any conditions which cause,"WASTING" and soforth.

The doctor in which you want to see is a gastrointestinal specialist, get the dr. to do a work up for wasting syndrome. As for the mental health issues you named, their is a petition before the MQAC right now to have those conditions added to our statutes of accepted qualifying conditions, it does appear they will add these conditions because the scientific proof has been done, this can be accessed at americans for safe access, and greenpassion-grannycrows list.

Hope this helps you navigate our system.

    Questions about RN/LMHC medical records

I have a friend who has a qualifying condition, but the clinic would not accept the NP's documentation. Her doctor refused to sign off the nurses docs, so she had to find a new doctor and her file got flagged by the HMO she belongs to.

It has to be a licensed MD or DO.

WashougalWonder, Welcome to the forum !!!!

It your friend contacts one of the clinics that specialise in MMJ they
will obtain the proper medical records. These clinics also are staffed with
doctors licensed in washington state to sign the recommendation.
