I posted this in a outdoor growing thread aswell because i feel like it covers both

the most amazing thing EVER just happened to me and my friends today! we decided to go over to my friends parents house(which he no longer lives at) to party because they're out of town. so we roll up a blunt and go out in the back yard to smoke it, and i'm just standing there when mike and everybody are looking over in the corner of the yard like it they just saw god, IT WAS A FULLY GROWN HYDROPONIC MARIJUANA PLANT!!!! holy fuck right?! like how the fuck we thought. turns out that it must have been seeds that we throu out there while partying last spring, and they actually fucking grew! well one anyway. And it is definitly top notch bud, it looks like something out of high time! i've got pictures on my phone and will upload them if i can find out how to. all of the bud together weigh 2 and a half ounces from just that one plant.

Have you ever heard of such a thing happening before to you or anyone? i didn't think it was even possible for hydroponic weed to grow outside, especially with no maintanance what so ever, it grow completely by itself and no one ever knew it even existed until today! it was in plain sight too. i still feel like i'm about to wake up any minute

Wondering the same thing. I think this is another case of someone labeling decent bud "hydro" because it's better quality than the regular swag that they're used to...

no, i'm no dumby, it's definitly hydroponic, it can't even be classified at all as mid or swag. I'm waiting for him to send me some pictures over the internet so i can show you.

as for where it grew. it grew right next to his house by the breaks close to a vent that blows out warm air from the laundry room, and i think all this rain that we've been getting is what really caused it to shoot up. also it was positioned to where the plant had all of the early part of the day, and evening to be in the sun.

I think that it was just complete blind luck really, this will probably never happen again. i'm definitly going to post up some pics on here when i get them.

Hydroponics cannabis implies that it was grown hydroponically, ie. without soil. Clearly, a plant growing in your back yard was grown with soil, clearly making what you found not hydroponic cannabis. Hydroponic is not a rung on a ladder of quality above "mid" and "swag", it is a growing method. Interesting first post, I think this might be a troll... :wtf:

Lol...yeah, the seeds you 'dumped' there may have been from a plant grown hydroponically, but obviously that plant is growing in soil in your back yard... The difference is really only a matter of opinion and growing skill and sometimes good 'ol 'luck'. I've seen MASSIVE crops grown in both soil AND hydro, but the debate will always be which is 'better' - soil or hydro grown... both are good in my opinion - has a lot to do with the nutes, flushing, curing, and tons of other details but the growing 'method' shouldn't determine which is 'better'....

yeah i feel like a dumby now for saying that it was hydroponic. didn't really think that thro. anyway after it dried up today it only looks like some really good midgrade. but the strange thing is when it was fresh yesterday it smelled like some of the best weed i've ever smelt, but today after drying it kind of smells weird, like earthy sort of. but it still looks really good. Smokes great

To really get the taste/potency, you should dry it for at least 1 week (2 weeks even better) and then store it in the dark in a sealed glass jar for another 2-3 weeks (open it once a day to expel moisture and air-out). You'll notice that towards the 3rd week of curing, it will be at it's best and possibly even on it's way to getting better and better....
