LED Strip GrowLight
Has anyone ever thought of using or making stick LED lights for an interior glow to the plants. I have seen and read many post talking about LED grow lights and NO they have not been perfected yet. We do however know that they do work for growing. I also know that many growers use steaks to keep there plants up right and straight. I also know that in past grows that I have had issues with lighting not penetrating deep enough in the plant because fan leaves always got in the way. Trimming got to be a pain and sometimes harmful to the plants. In some odd way. So until they are perfected wouldn't it make sense to make LED strip steak posts that would light up the interior of the plants under the large fan leaves for a little more light penetration. Get where the CFLs and HPSs cant really get. Maybe its a dumb idea but for some reason might be of some value to someone or some plants.
What do you all think. If you would like I could put together a diagram and show you exactly what I am talking about. and maybe my idea.Pudish Reviewed by Pudish on . ok here is a simple diagram took me 5 mins to make so its not that good. but it shows my thoughts at least I think it does anyways.
The basic thought in mind want to light the inner fan leaves where other light is shaded my larger fan leaves from the tops. A typical hung HPS only shines light downward and reflects off the walls floors and or anything else that you are using to reflect. So i am certain that the depreciated reflected light would not be penetrating the inter leaves or the ones under shade I should say. The idea would be to put the light right at the source of the shaded area and light up the leaves that are shaded. I have no test available because I have not built any lighting systems from LED but I have been reading a load on LEDs and thought this might be something to check out.

What if the LED'S were on a rope so you could wrap them around branches as well as the stem like Christmas lights? I have thought of that.:rasta:

might have been a dumb idea but this is just one that popped in my head. I know they do make a load of rope lights that are LEDs. but dont know if they would work. Maybe for the grow log I am making ill think about throwing some in the underside of the plants near the aero system. Ill see what I can come up with once i get the room and setups all setup.

I will try this because of the way i designed my grow room. I am going to hava a ful canopy in the flower room and will need supplimental lighting on the undersides. So lets see if it works. WIll be a while before I can set this up working on building the room first. So far its getting costly for my buget. aero systems framing isn't bad its the pumps and lights that are killing me. Each set up runs about 100 bucks from start to finish and the light system are 120 for a 600 watt HPS. SO pockets getting hit hard.
plu si need to buy the seeds yet.
anyone know a cheap place to get fem AK-47s?
