I've owned a Silver Surfer for 2 years and it works like the day I bought it. No maintenance other than washing glass parts as you would do with a bong.

    Highly recommended.

Also, the whip fits right into an 18.8 female bong joint. So you can hook your Silver Surfer right into your bong. Hit it nice and soft and you'll be good to go.
I figure if I study high, take the test high, get high scores!

I love whip vaporizers. I've been fortunate enough to get to try out both the SSV and the DBV for long periods of time. In facts, I've gotten to try out lots of vaporizers in general.

    In my opinion...

The SSV is not worth the extra money unless you just want better aesthetics.

Also the DBV grounded-glass wand stays in easier than the SSV grounded-glass wand.

Don't know what you mean by "pure". Vapor quality, as far as included toxins, is a matter of temperature, not model. The DBV, being a full sized whip model, naturally gives bigger hits than the narrow bowl on the Vapor allows. You could argue that the Vapo (used properly) is more efficient though, since really big hits are kind of wasteful.
