    Panic attack

hey, first off i have been smoking weed regularly for about 2 years now. the other day i was doing some buckets with some buddies and after we came inside my heart starting beating fast, i started trembling, and i my legs felt numb. i believe it was from a panic attack, but it was the first time this has happened to me ever, and was a frightening experience, since than i have only smoked once (this happened wednesday), in fear of having another one, i am just looking for any information on this, and/or how to prevent it from happening again. thanks in advance

    Panic attack

A friend of mine gets panic attacks from heavy indicas, maybe try sticking to sativas if possible. Otherwise I think its a crap shoot and really just depends on your set and setting. BTW, what are buckets?

okay thanks for your input, and its when u cut the bottom off a pop bottle, put in a bowl piece (we use a socket) in the lid, and the suction from pulling the bottle out of the water draws the smoke downward. although slightly different you might call it a gravity bong.

    Panic attack

Hello, I to used to get panic attacks bad and YES they are sheer terror. I found that caffine seemed to be my key trigger. As soon as I laid off most caffine the attcks went away. Just find your trigger and then you can control it, hope this helps!

Sativas are usually a more wired and sometimes paranoid high. Although indicas can induce the same affects, the increased heart rate definitely suggests sativa over indica. Also I have seen things like that from lack of oxygen while smoking. Try taking deep breathes inbetween rips and maybe less on the gravity bong, they dont let alot of air in with the smoke.

Keep on Blazin' you will be alright:smokin:

I thought Sativas were known to have a mellow type high? Aren't Purps a form of Sativa? Every time I've had a purp it's been really mellow and slowed me down.

I'd say it's more likely to be from Sativas. THC is the chemical responsible for producing panic attacks in larger doses, and Indicas have proportionately less THC than CBD, so that makes little sense. Indicas can create paranoia if the user does not like feeling the high in their body, but the most likely case is it's a Sativa, especially since his heart rate increased.

Very good point. I haven't seen any documented research into it but stimulants + weed seem to make your high extremely paranoid, regardless of whether it's highly dangerous stimulants like methamphetamine or something like caffeine, stimulants aren't good in the long run and definitely have a negative effect on your high. I too gave up caffeine, and cigarettes, and I no longer experience paranoia, whatsoever.

    Panic attack

I read recently that smoking high potency pot of a different strain than your usual can, under certain conditions, give panic attack symptoms. I recently experienced that feeling first hand and it really does suck!
