awesome grow. Looks like a great success for such a small grow box.

I'd like to ask a few questions on your box, if you don't mind?
Making a growbox myself, and want to use rubbermaid.

whats in the box ontop of the growbox? (cardboard, not power supply)
did you change the lights when flowering started?
Were the sockets in a fixture prior to build or individuals screwed onto wood?
where were the fans located? I think I see one near lights? were the two vents below the plants passive intake/exhaust?

Thanks mgjscdhl, I would have to agree! Of course I don't mind answering some q's.

The box that is ontop of the rubbermaid is basically a chimney for my exhaust fan. It is a chambered box so that light cannot enter my growbox through the fan. Its not taped down so I just pull it off to have a look at my girl.

    I did swap the bulbs. For veg I had 4 6500k 23w CFL's, and 2 2700k 23w, and for flowering I have 5 2700k 23w and 1 6500k 23w.

The fixture was bought from home depot, it was all together and was a "bathroom" fixture, so the wiring can handle some moisture. The fixture was then bolted to the top of the box with the wood there so the fan behind (on the top) the fixture could have some room to suck air.

I only run 2 fans, the exhaust is a high flow 120mm computer fan, I believe it was rated for a bit over 100cfm, so it moves plenty of air. It is located on the top of the box behind the lights, as hot air rises. The intakes are 2 90 degree 3 inch PVC elbows, one on each side, right under my canopy, so air is pulled through it, I figured it would help prevent mold. The second fan is another 120mm fan that is hanging in a corner of the box, it is held by some tie wire(NOT THE CORD) and blows air across the canopy. Temps are not a problem.

Hope that helps, and thanks all for stopping in, I'll have another update on the weekend!

    BD's CFL peakseed adventure!

Early update, things are looking good, I think. It still appears that trichs are still mostly clear at this point which is a bit concerning, I would really like to chop her early next week but I'm thinking it might be a bit longer than expected. I'm still waiting to smoke the bud I picked off, it was still quite moist so I hang it to dry for a night, might try that later. Anyways, some pics.

edit - I forgot I was gonna take a few more pics of the box before the lights turned off to better illustrate my points in the previous post, but I will have to try and remember to do it tomorrow.:stoned:

Bump for bud porn. OHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAH. A day shy of 9 weeks flowering, trichs still mostly appear clear to me, but I am only able to use zoom on my macro shots, no fundages for a jewelers loupe or pocket magnifier The plan for right now is probably flush again tomorrow and finally let her dry out, maybe I'll chop her on christmas. Also again, the last pic makes a great desktop

Hey BoneDaddy, what camera do you use for you super macro shots? And do you use a tripod and timer? Those pics are fantastic man, did you use some lights or something to light up those tasty buds?

I have a Fuji Finepix S2000HD for taking pics of my grow. I don't know if yours is in the same performance range but I certainly want to take pictures like you do!!

    :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Hey MB, I have a Canon Powershot SD1000(older 7.1MP P-n-S), I am a Canon fanboy I suppose, never had one that didn't take good pics. As for how I do it, Just put the camera into manual mode, adjusted my exposure(-1), set my ISO to HIGH, macro enabled(NOT digital macro), and I just point and shoot! It took me a while to figure out the best settings for macros depending on light levels of the room/with flash or without/distance from the buds, but I got her figured out for taking them now, and no I do not use a tripod, timer, or any fancy lights! I'm happy to hear you enjoy the pics though, should have some real good ones in about a week or so Happy holidays to you MB, and all the lurkers out there.
