    Fogger Design Ideas?

It's been a long night but after some serious soul searching I think I want to try a fogger system. From what I can tell I bought the good fogging unit which is the aeromist 3 head teflon one. Also from what I can tell I will need to incorporate a fan and some sort of return system for the fog. I wonder if I could just use a single tall tote then mount a pc fan inside to circulate the fog? I could suspend the fan from the lid far enough below the roots yet above the fogger unit. Even though it would be a single chamber the fan would likely still circulate the fog inside. This would be much easier then designing a two chamber system with fans going one way and recirculation designs for the condensed fog. I could even mount the fan directly to the lid on it's edge and even that would surely push the fog around in a single chamber, wouldn't it?

Fog will work to a degree. What the NASA boys have found out is you still need to make it hybrid. We tried just fog and failed because if the fog shuts down for even a hour the roots start to dry and damage. It over. We then went to hybrid fog DWC. Well the fog just helps getting them started and then the DWC takes over. To keep the fog going is useless. If you have a big apce between netpots and rez roots can dry out bad if fog quits and do damage.

If and only if you can make enough fog and keep it circulating very well will you have any success. Even then it will be limited. Goggle a search.
It looked like a way to use less nutes and water but it is very fragile.

Interesting. I found very little in the way of end result grow logs. I should have searched more I guess. Oh well, at this point I am committed since I already bought the unit. I have a timer unit that cost me a pretty penny that should make lite work of timing the fogger. I intend to set it for 1m on and 3m off. I can totally see how losing power would be an issue which is probably why I saw more then one fogger plugged into a battery backup system. Come to think of it though, I cant think of too many systems that can stand a lengthy power outage. All in all though I rarely lose power and if I do, it's only for a moment. I'm also a full time couch potato which means me plants wont be getting away with too much before I'm on to them.

I find your results interesting though. I found competing arguments against the hybrid since the misters would wash off the fog wouldn't they? Additionally I have seen plenty of evidence that shows the roots from fog alone tend to me much finer roots and grow like gangbusters. This coming from people who claim to have used other systems. However as I mentioned earlier I never did see how they finished up and whether they would do it again. I assumed that it was a fairly new system and that there simply isn't enough people trying it.

Don't let me discourage you your reasoning is sound. It will work and you may find it to be enough. It's the ones that want to max out that set the goals. LOL.

I would like to see a grow with fog there are so little. We will try again but it's hard finding room and time for experimentations. Tried a fogg cloner I thought would work but nothing. Need to try again with heat pad.
