Lighting Schedules ??? help me

so ive heard a lot of things about lighting. but as my first plant died i felt i should ask. as seedlings should i give them 24/7 light or 12 on 12 off. when should i switch this. or what should my lighting schedule be?

The first 30 to 60 days of lighting for seedlings is the vegging cycle. It can be 18/6, 20/4 or 24/0 hours of light. (your choice)

When the plant is mature enough for sexing...switch to 12/12 flowering cycle lighting.
