Hey everyone,

I'm new to the boards, was browsing the web and I was reading some of the threads in these forums and found it to be pretty interesting.

Here's my situation, hopefully someone can have a little bit of insight for me...

In the beginning of October I took an oral drug test, specifically the "Intercept Oral Fluid Drug Test" and failed-- testing positive for marijuana. Here's my dilemma... I hadn't smoked in about 3-4 weeks from that date. Now after doing a bit of reading, everywhere I read stated that oral drug testing only detected use from within a few hours after use up to a few days after use. Hypothetically, let's say I smoked some pot on September 3rd or 4th and then got tested October 1st, should I have come up dirty? Mind you - I am not a chronic user, and I only took 3 or 4 drags from a joint nearly a month prior to my test. Anyway, my probation officer did not violate me. Nor did I have to sign any sort of paperwork acknowledging the fact that I tested positive for any sort of drug. Instead she suggested I take another test and if I tested positive she would recommend me for treatment.

Everyone I spoke to said oral drug testing results are inaccurate and use can only be detected for a few days afterwards. Is anyone ACTUALLY familiar with oral fluid drug testing? I am worried I will test positive again, even though it has been 50 or 51 days since I last smoked pot. If anyone has any answers to my questions, thank you so much.

Truly Yours,
