If you cut the main stalk, will it grow back? In other words, I cut the main stalk in an attempt to top it, which i believe was the wrong way. Will it grow back? all of the leaves that were below are now growing well, but the stalk! will it grow!?! Ill show some pics if someone needs a better idea. Thanks!!

No it will not grow back... Im not sure what u mean my u attempted to Top the plant... sounds like u succeeded quite well in doing so. There's only one place a that new growth comes from and its nodes. Expect the two top branches to have all the new growth. Not really a problem depending on how much u cut off, u will just have two smaller top colas instead of one big one. Topping is a good way to promote Bush growth to keep height down. But your only supposed to trim off the tippy top, and dont do it while flowering, plants take 1-2weeks to recover from cuttings.

Well I guess I do believe I succeeded in topping as I successfully cut the top off of the plant. But I did not cut the tippy top of the plant, a little below that, I took two 5 speared leaves with me on the chop. Is that not good?

it will be fine. as long as the plant has some green leaves for photosynthesis. the plant will re-route the growth hormone (auxin i believe) to the primordial bud sites. the main cola, has an apex called the apex meristem. this is responsible for growth. it puts out new cells in front of and behind itself, and viola, growth!

so now you will have two instead of one.
