QuickFix 5.7 SUCCESS @ Concentra
Hello,
These forums really helped me out, so I decided to register and post my success story to encourage people in similar situations.
I recently subbed QF5.7 at Concentra for a 10-panel pre-employment non-DOT drug screen. I did something a bit weird though, so let me detail it in the event anyone else has thoughts of doing the same.
I had a bottle o QF4.0 I bought about a year and a half ago but never opened. It was kept sealed, in a dark, cool place for the duration of its life. Once I realized that a new QF formula was out, I decided to play it safe and had it overnighted to my address. Only 1 bottle. Much to my chagrin I realized I would probably have to provide more than 2oz of a sample. My solution was simple, I didn't have time to order more 5.7, and I needed to test that day to avoid raising any red flags. I bought a 3oz travel bottle from walmart and poured the entirety of the 5.7 in it, as well as half of the QF4.0. I had already agitated and heated both samples before combining them.
The result was a concoction of 2 parts QF5.7 and 1 part QF4.0. I used the heating pads from both batches and used two rubberbands to affix them to either side of the bottle. I took the temp strip off of a bottle of the QF, and luckily it was more than sticky enough to be reapplied to my newly bought 3oz bottle. I put on two pairs of boxer briefs and taped around my thigh over the top pair of briefs to ensure that even if the bottle came out of its position under my taint, it wouldn't fall out of the bottom of my briefs. I did a mirror check, a walking check, and a bending over check to ensure the outline of the bottle was never visible beneath my shorts.
I went into Concentra for a 10-panel, pre-employment drug screen. I was kept waiting for about an hour, and then escorted into a room where I was asked to empty my pockets. I wasn't patted down after I emptied them, so I could have just left the bottle in my pocket, but I wasn't taking any chances.
Went into the restroom, filled the cup to the line and disposed o the remaining fluid in the blue-watered toilet (for realism's sake) I handed the tech my sample, she marked the temp as being correct and I was on my way.
Got word back 28 hours later. I started last week.AnonymousTokez Reviewed by AnonymousTokez on . Toss out any ideal of using a dilution product such as Stat! Flush. I used it yesterday (2 bottles, as I am over 200 lbs) and my results came back too dilute and I was told to retest immediately. My backup plan was QuickFix Plus 5.7. I supplied my specimen at the correct temp, and will let you all know tomorrow if LabCorp passes me.

Didn't hear back today, but did find out that my employer can log onto the lab's website and check for my results. Should have results by tomorrow and promise to update this post.

Okay, unlike soooo many others, I am back, as promised, to give you my news. I passed!!! However, they do randoms, and I hear as much as 3-4 times in one year. I will be purchasing more QuickFix Plus 5.7 to keep on hand. Although this may be a great job, I am keeping my ears open for other opportunities to work for a company that doesn't invade my personal life with requiring random testing.
Hoping it will become legal in my state and they take it off the offending list so I can keep this job and not have to worry about how I am gonna get this stuff to body temp and get to the testing facility fashionably on-time. Would be kinda weird temping it using the microwave in the lunchroom on my way out the door. See, here goes another complexity I didn't need.
Anyone know how long QF 3oz really takes to get to temp with the provided hand warmers (not using any other heating method)? Would like to hear back from anyone who used the handwarmers to bring it to temp.
