With those Hanna meters make sure you use the right calibration solution, only the packets that come with it. GH has a ppm calibration fluid and I guess it doesnt work with them. I use the 1500 ppm solution and its fine. It does take a while so leave it in there for a couple of minutes.

is it ok with the genesis calibration solution cause i order the hanna one but dude from the store gave me a dual package genesis, one is 1413us/989ppm and the other is 1500ppm/2142us both at .70 conversion factor

    For TDS measurements, users
    can choose a conversion factor
    between 0.45 and 1.00 in
    increments of 0.01.
Set your meter to "conv 0.70," and those solutions should be fine. They give you two conductivities so you can compare and "balance the results."

According to the specs, this meter will calibrate itself using a single solution (1413 μS/cm). You can always use the other cal solution as a "check," though.

Is this what your instructions say?

    What part don't you understand?

Just put it in "cal" mode and dip it in! It's automatic!

    Calibration procedure

â?¢ From measurement mode, press and hold the /
MODE button until CAL is displayed on the lower
    LCD.

â?¢ Release the button and immerse the probe in the
    proper calibration solution: HI7031 (1413 μS/cm)
    for HI98129

â?¢ Once the calibration has been automatically performed,
the LCD will display OK for 1 second and
the meter will return to normal measurement mode.
