When I read the title of this thread, I thought it had to be a joke. What a slap in the face to previous Nobel Prize winners that exemplified what the honor was intended to be. Jean Henri Dunant, Nelson Mandela, Teddy Roosevelt, MLK Jr., Henry Kissinger, Mother Theresa.....Barack Obama??? I just threw up in my mouth a little.

i just heard that he is in the running for both miss universe and miss teen america. his name has been thrown in the hat as a possible successor to the current pope and barak has become the most popular name for both boys and girls born this year. his likeness has been seen in cloud formations, on tortillas and slices of toast, on a water stain in an amsterdam brothel and peeking from behind waldo's cap. he has been beatified in seven separate religions and his tears are said to heal the lame. his daughters are the product of immaculate conception and his virginal wife is the illegitimate daughter of martin luther king. so you see, the nobel prize is a mere bauble to such a great and revered man.

My boy is 11 months old and I have to wonder how many kids in his grades growing up will be named Barak or Obama......it'll be wierd when they hang out at my house.... " Hey......there....little Barak??" God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.

Oh? Did you make an account on here just to spread your hate? I, sadly voted for Obama. I got caught up in his magical "Hope" buzz that was spreading around. I was excited at the prospect of a black president. But it turns out he's the same as the rest of them. Before you make a bold statement like that, try a little education, then try to open your mind beyond the program's that you have been fed. Once you have succeeded at removing your sheep's wool, then maybe you can make some comments that help others. Do you see how your comment is only an attack? It contains nothing of use except to further your own concept being right. When you have information that shows what benefits Obama has brought this country, and this world, than please share them. You, mind friend, are PROJECTING. YOU are reducing Obama's identity solely to his race...not us. I think you should take a deeper look inside yourself and your attitudes towards race.

I am as open-minded and welcoming as they come (which is good, because I'm a professional therapist). I think you will find that this site has a higher ratio of open-minded:closed-minded persons than most other online forums.

Your a therapist no kiddidng? I had some bad ones when I was a kid in the early 90's, putting me on all kinds of drugs that really hurt me mentally I think. Once I quit the meds I got a new guy about 8 years ago that just talked with me.......got me through some hard shit....made me a better person. No meds, he sent me on a Skinner Brothers mountain climbing thing, in Montana, in the middle of nowhere, in the Mountains. It was amazing. Never forget it.

I rarely prescribe meds. Most of my med patients are kids with autism or bipolar. I push therapy, whether it's intense family-based or less intense outpatient. Some therapists are better than others at figuring out the best way to utilize therapy for each individual client; and some just give out meds to collect the paychecks. Sounds like you got what you need though :thumbsup:

I for sure I got what I needed, the good guys like you should make as much as surgeons as far as I'm concerned.....maybe saved my life looking back.

Off topic- Whats up with Autism? Why so many kids now? Is it the next ADD or is there some cause? Maybe something the babyboomers took or got? I find psychology fascinating......loved it in school.
