Are our flourescent bulbs going to veg our plants efficiently?
This is my very first post after growing for 1 year now. I have received so much information from these threads!! Thank you! But can we get rid of the naked legal bugs girl up there?? Just a suggestion...
Anyway, I've read a few different threads about the differences between lights but am looking for a clear opinion, suggestion or answer on whether you can veg, or how many plants you can veg, under fluorescent bulbs.
Up until now we have always used 2 600 watt HPS lights to veg up to 25 plants at a time and never had a problem :rasta: Now we came across some fluorescent ballasts and got some gro lux bulbs and have 4 48" 40 watt tubes total now trying to veg 16 babies and keep 5 mamas alive and kickin'???
Generally we were doing a 3 week veg cycle with the HPS... What do you think? Should we put our 6's back in and avoid delayed growing or are these lights gonna do the trick?
The energy its gonna save seems too good to be true but we wanted to throw those 6's in the flower room :hippy:
Any suggestions appreciatedimp:

Yes.
In short, yes you will be fine vegging under flouros, no big deal. It does save energy, but it will slow things down a bit. However, if you were vegging under 2 600 HPS?
I would suspect that they would cause some stretch, while w/ the floros, you can have those right on top of them, you get slower growth, but shorter internode spacing also. For moms, they are great, I used to veg under MH, 400 watter, and those just allowed for way too much too fast growth, could not keep things under control for what I was doing, as soon as I switched to floros, things were much easier to manage for me.
So yes, in short, yes.:jointsmile::thumbsup:
P.S.,
Be careful criticizing the half naked fake bud girl, or the scam ad that clearly indicates that people here are lazy and stupid potheads that want to make an easy buck, apparently the powers that be here are waaay beyond criticism, and they don't like it when you point out that sponsors of this site are trying to take advantage of it's members, or portraying them to be stupid/dumb/or lazy. :jointsmile::thumbsup:
