Since cannabis is a schedule 1 drug under federal law, meaning it has "no recognized medical use" (yeah right) it cannot be legally "prescribed" like other medication. CA law basically has a loophole where it is legalized for medical use in the state, but doctors can only make a "recommendation" for cannabis, which is different than a prescription. Cannabis is not recognized as a medicine, so even with your card, you will still be at risk of failing a probationary drug test and the reprocussions associated with a failed test. There was a bill in CA within the past year or two that would have protected medical marijuana patients from testing positive for THC on drug tests, but for whatever reason, the Governator vetoed it. Sorry man, it really sucks that you have to take dangerous and potentially lethal pharmaceutical medications rather than being able to use a more effective and 100% natural herb to heal your pains. Peace.
