You are wasting good bud if you are putting it into water... I simply can't stand by and let this happen, lol, so I'll share with you a method that worked for me. I got the recipe off erowid.org, I think, a few years ago. Here's how I did it:

I basically took 1 cup of either whole or 2% milk, put a paper towel over the top of the mug, and heated it up in the microwave at 30 second intervals, checking between intervals to make sure the milk didn't bubble over, until it was steaming hot. (steaming hot, meaning before it boils: if the milk boils, the thc drawn from the bud will evaporate into the air, and a good amount of thc will be lost.) Then I poured the hot milk over a good nickel's worth (about four or five grams) of broken up buds and stems, and let it steep for five minutes, put the cup back in and let it heat some more, and then let it steep again; I repeated this a few times until the milk had a very distinct green tint. When it was done, I let it cool a bit and sipped on it... it had me extremely lit in about fifteen minutes!!! It does not taste very good alone...I recommend using the bud milk to make hot cocoa, or to put in coffee.. that masks the bitterness pretty well, with a bit of sugar, of course.
