Is smoking a waterfall/gravity bong toxic?

I've been smoking from the same water bottle for about 2-3 weeks and the sides of the opening start to get white and if I puff I cough hard and my throat gets very painful. So how toxic is it? I havent't been able to find any information on this anywhere. Lungs get hotter even faster so thats's not a great long term option.

Also what are some easy makable alternatives to smoking besides?

get a real piece theyre not hard to find, if it feels toxic it is toxic

Get a real pipe.

Or a new water bottle.

This is if you burn it, but I suppose if the sides are changing color, they might be getting hot enough.

i wouldnt use a plastic bottle..

get one of those sobe drink glass bottles it has a little notch at the base that can break out with a screw driver or scissors and make a nice hole for a waterfall bong. make a hole in the metal cap pull off the rubber withing the cap. place a screen in the top and u have a nice bowl.
