New 2 growing HELP! some questions

Hello wsh400, and welcome to cancom boards.

    1) Save your money, that LED panel is basically useless. I happen to like LEDs, but.....pay shit, get shit. Good LED lights will cost ya. You'd be better served going the CFL route.

    2) That timer will be perfect for what you want to do.

    Good luck and good growing.

Get as big and as many as you can afford.

Not sure how big an area or how many plants you are working with, so here's some general info. Starting out with seedlings you don't need much light at all. 26w CFLs seem readily available and cheap (look for multi-packs) and you want a light temp of 5500K-6500K, these are daylight bulbs with plenty of blue, which you want during vegative growth. You will need more light after the first few weeks. Then later when you are ready to flower your plants you want to add bulbs with a light temp of 2700K. These are a warm white and contain more red for flowering.

You can get a vanity light bar at a big box hardware store (home de pot) that holds 3-6 lights, you can then add "Y" sockets and double them up.

Good luck, hope this helps you.
