Im no expert but i can answer most of your questions, one the golden yellow spot are either cuz you have to much nutrients in your water(if your growin hydro) or you might have the light to close and it could be burning them, Also in that same reasoning foil creates hot spots therefor certain spots on your plant will be getting excessive amounts of light, My best advice would be to goto you local wal-mart and get a windsheild reflector for your car and put the shinny side reflecting the light, this is about the most cost efficient way to solve that problem.
