It sounds like your onlyy recourse is to prove that the test was some how faulty because the protocol wasn't followed therefor the results are not valid. I would write down exactly everything that took place during collection and if it doesn't follow the protocols you can have a retest done.
I didn't mean to be insensitive. If you had stated that this was a do or die type case I would have been a little more sympathetic.
