Whats that smell up on my shirt...Its that purp. Its that purp.
So hello friends. And, thank you for coming along on my citral journey. I will be going down that road again soon...since the buds were nice and fat. But, this time I will be sure to let them go for 10-12 weeks in flower before chopping them! Lesson Learned!
We are now working with 2 trays of plants. Tray #1 and tray #2 consist of 3 varieties of California's finest purple girls. They are in flower...and doing nicely. The varieties being grown are GDP, Purple Kush, Purple Erkle, and Grape Ape.
Tray #1:
This tray is 6 weeks into flower. The girls are looking quite nice...and I will be flowering these until week 11 or 12. To get the full purple hue desired. In fact, it is already starting to give me this coloration on a few of the plants.
So this tray will be another 5 week journey.
Tray #2:
This tray has one odd plant in it. One Citral plant. Had one still sitting around. It needed to be flowered. Was not that impressed with the breed this last time...so I figured I would give it one last chance.
Here are some pics of everything too!martyrprojekt Reviewed by martyrprojekt on . Whats that smell up on my shirt...Its that purp. Its that purp. So hello friends. I am considering doing a cross with my next grow...Grape Ape with Purple Kush...When I got seeds I will send em your way. But, that is for another forum for sure. I think this is an important thing to talk about with the next one. I am sure it will help people with creating and identifying genetic traits desirable...and which plants are a good match for crossing.
Hell maybe even cheese with Grape APE....hmmmm. :stoned:

Disrupt...Does anyone really have anything "extra" laying around...
I know I don't.
BTW...in case people were wondering even though I harvested my citral early from my last grow. I still netted about a pound of dried product...and another half pound of "airy" buds to make some nice edibles for myself. They are already done drying and off to cure.
The purps:
The purple girls are doing quite well, already starting to get yellowing leaves on Tray #1 of this grow. Which means I am still about 3-4 weeks from full purple color change and harvest. They are starting week 7 tomorrow and they are getting very dense. I am still with trichs that are clear under magnifying glass. I want a nice head high from these so I will cut when they are starting to get Amber trichs popping up in about 25% of the buds.
Tray #2 is about 5-6 weeks from full purple and harvest. This tray had its flower started on my 8 bulb T5 light...I must say, I am impressed at the quality from where these plants have been. Looking nice!

So...the purpling of the trays continues. I am noticing that in Tray #1 that all the plants are starting to get the purple hue to them...and the leaves are all changing colors to purple. I then began to look more closely at them and I am noticing that both trays are, in fact, turning purple.
What I am doing to get the purple hue is the following:
1.) I am dropping the temperatures in my grow room at night to hover between 63-65 degrees Farenheit.
2.) During the day...my temperatures never go above 80...I have them at a steady 74-76 degrees. It will only fluctuate in the afternoon (and, I avoid that by turning on my squirrel fan...it drops the temps right back where they should be).
3.) I am also watering now 4 times per day. Since I began this feeding schedule, I am noticing the buds are growing at an astronomical rate...and they are far more dense...I am nor using Kool Bloom or any other blooming nutrients, as I still do not believe they make that big of a difference in the grow. (I am still waiting for someone to show me the difference in a grow comparison)...a side by side comparison would be awesome in a grow room with the same variables being present simultaneously.
In fact, it might not be a bad idea for my to do this personally (what a great comparison grow this would make). Perhaps, Tray #1 with the extra nutes...and tray #2 is the control tray. This way we can see the growth and product difference. Does anyone know if someone has done this yet with the blooming products to see the difference?
Well...I am off to blaze one and enjoy some down time. I will be posting more pictures this tomorrow...as this is the beginning of week 7 of Tray #1 and week #5 of tray #2.
