White Substance on Small Leaves

--Outdoor plant is 5th generation Northern Lights clone.
--Growing area is SC (very hot and humid).
--Plant is well into flowering with healthy looking buds.

This plant has generally appeared to be very healthy throughout the growing season, but I am beginning to notice a dry, milky white substance on the smaller leaves. This substance will wipe away when moisture is applied. There is no evidence of bud rot at this point. I am reluctant to do much of anything except observe since the trichomes are increasing daily. I have seen this substance in years past, and have experienced minimal bud rot just before harvest. This year, I spread the branches considerably from the beginning, and the buds look fine. Can anyone tell me what this substance most likely is and if I should do anything at this point except watch and wait. I'm probably 2-3 weeks away from harvest.

Thanks, pp. I did some research and arrived at the same conclusion. I found a resource that recommended the spraying of diluted hydrogen peroxide or a diluted milk/water mixture. I tried 5 oz. 2% milk + 25 oz. water. The next day, all leaf whiteness was gone. We've had moderate rain since then with a very dry week ahead. Since I'm so close to harvest, I'm going to keep my eyes open and ride it out.

That's a very important solution for people to know. I know someone who got sick trying to take care of this kind of problem using bleach. If milk works, everyone should remember that. Good job.

milk works..... H202 works also.....will keep it at bay for 4-5 days
