    How high for medicinal effects?

I'm still new to the pot scene (only smoked a few times) and I was wondering...for those of you smoking mmj to relieve pain (particularly that associated with IBS), how high do you get when you medicate? How much does it take to relieve the pain? Also, does smoking actually stop the pain, or do you simply forget about it because you are high?

Any help or insight you can give would be great!

    How high for medicinal effects?

It's going to vary from person to person...I use it for my back pain and just have to take a couple tokes of killer..I find my friends not being satisfied with only a couple hits, but apparently it's enough to relax my back enough..

All depends on each individual's tolerance level. For a person that has only smoked a few times, some shwag would blow your mind. On the other hand, someone who smokes killer 24/7 has a tolerance out of this world and would need to smoke ideally a lot more, and a more potent strain.

Eating it works better for digestive purposes. Our digestive system is made of cannabis materials so to speak with-out getting all technical about it. Cannabis heals our digestive system very well. I suggest you eat it instead of smoking it, of course you will find out what you need for your pain when it goes away or you tolerate it much better. peace

I don't know what its like for everyone else but Pot is probably one of the worst pain relievers for me, unless I'm curing a stomach ache or a fever. For back pains and other physical ailments, it either does nothing or augments it, which is why I usually take some sort of opiate with pot if I'm in serious pain. otherwise I smoke pot for recreational purposes.

Try the indica strains for pain and relaxation. Also eating is very effective for my back problem. I sleep better and don't notice the pain until I wake up. For a quick medible get the ready bake cookies from the grocery store. Put a small amount of ground pot in the cookie and bake as per directions. You will have a relaxing medible in 10 minutes or so. Adjust the amount of pot as needed.

I use for back and knee pain. I will usually smoke a bowl during the mid day,and then smoke a couple more in the evening before bed,I totally forget about the pain because its not there.

I have a little purple Shiva, and some sour ol grandaddy that are both pretty good for pain, but even better for my anxiety.
