General question on pruning
hi peeps
im 12 days into flowering and want to cut off some lower branches that arnt getting any light, would this be a bad idea at this stage? i dont want to lose yeld as ive only got 2 plants.
the top canopy seems quite dense so no light is getting to the lower branches and it seems pointless leaving those energy sucking branches to remain. thankssirruler Reviewed by sirruler on . General question on pruning
all depends how big they are man.....i would always take the first 1/3 from the bottom of my plants but they where monsters man so all depends if its not getting any light then taking it off will force that bit of growth to the top canopy!

General question on pruning
thank you for the reply. they are about 2.5 - 3 ft tall now and doing ok but i was worried about them growing too tall and growing smaller buds. i really dont want to cause any stress to them if i can help it but those lower branches really arnt getting any light at all. think i might take them out and cut them off
thanks again

General question on pruning
yup i chopped them branches off lol funny thing tho the plants seem all stems. they were veged as clones for 13 days using a 400watt MH (6 inches from the tops) and i use a air cooled light with fan between the light and tops of the plants too so to avoid burn. within 13 days they went from 3 inches to 14 inches which i guess was ok but problem started when i changed bulbs to a 600watt HPS (again 6 inches from tops) for 12/12. they are now 17 days into flowering and they are all stem with nodes way too far appart. ive counted on many at least 10 inches between each node or more and i cant figure out whats causing them to stretch so much.
i am using the same strain as i did before and i get the same problem, lots of stalks with nodes too far appart. i actually counted a 3 inch stretch in 24 hours so i think something must be wrong.
