hairs on top not the same as hairs lower down?

if i were to have a plant that is flowering and the hairs on the top of the buds are the nice reddish amberish color that im looking for but the further u go down that same bud the hairs are still nice and white...will they turn the reddish amberish color in time or do i need to pick?

Hairs != harvest time. Go get a stamp collecting microscope from Radio Shack or somewherez and check your trichs. Hairs just really signify how old the calyx is, it seems, not really where the plant is in its production cycle.

Well, since I am... heat can turn those pistils red/brown prematurely, too. And older plants can continue to generate a few fresh new white ones here and there, too. Gotta chech the trichs as carinia said.

the 'hairs' color, means nothing ... it varies with age, humidity, temps, genetics, etc... they rapidly turn brown, when pollinated, also ... the ONLY was to accurately judge the plant's maturity, is by studying the trichomes with a microscope, or powerful magnifying glass (requires about 30x to see well) ... good luck :smokin:
