Yep. Medicine is medicine has nothing to do with anything else. If he's on court ordered UA's he'll be asked about it, but as long as he has a legal prescription he's good.

what is a UA? i think he was convicted for control substance like E-pills and he still on probation are you sure? cause another friend told me if you were convicted you can't get the card

UA is urine analysis.
It may also depend on the severity of his issue. I doubt they will just give it to somebody because their back bothers them time and again. It might have to be a legitimate consistent problem.
Unless you lived in Oakland. Heard they are giving them out like water over there!
