Plants slowly dying, pics and info inside

These are the meds of my pops,he asked me to take a look for him. He's using a phototron with 3 U shaped 40 watt flourescents and a 400 watt MH light shining into the open panel of the phototron. It has a reflector which focuses all light straight into the phototron, with the one(of three panels) being open to allow in light from the MH light.his plants seem somewhat dull greenish on some leaves and some just crumble when touching them. As well as they are curling up and some are gaining these weird colorations on the leaf edges. Sorry if some things are missing,he is inbetween novice and good.
I've included some pictures to better help.

    1. 3,40 watt flourescents(in phototron),400 watt MH,positioned about a 1'3" up and 16 inches back. The bulbs in the cage were removed.
    2. Soil
    3. Sphagnum moss,worm casting,regular soil
    4. It's in a 4x6 area, behind the water heater and ac unit. There's no fans back there but it's around 72 on average most days and 70 on a bad day
    5. He uses tap water for his plants.
    6. There's 3 plants in there,it's 3x3x3 (length,width,depth)
    7. He had been watering them since flowering via foliar feeding only. Only watered it 4 times total,3 of those times it was a mix of sugar daddy (4 tbsp per gallon, 1.7 sulfur,1.6 magnesium)2 tbsp earth juice bloom ( 3% P-1% k)
    8. They are about 5 weeks as well.
    9. They are on the 12/12 cycle
    10. He's growing these from random seeds he had around
    11. He was foliar feeding them 2-3 times a day, he fed them usually around 8.11,2. For 3 weeks he foliar fed them a gallon of water with 1 drop of super thrive. Then the next 2 weeks he used regular water to foliar feed

Folair feeding during bloom is not a good idea unless you really know what your doing. It looks like its caused by not watering the roots or possibly the roots are dieing either from not being watered or root bound.

What Killer said about the foliar feeding. It can screw them up bad. The light with no fan can be a real burn.

You need a fan badly. Get some air moving too.

Phototrons are some strange animals. I worked with one for almost 20 years just like that one. Till they took it. LOL I see you or your Dad came to the conclusion you need more like. That's good.

I would suggest either going with phototrons Sphagnum or go Coco fiber. The methods are similar. Once started I have had succes only with GH 3 part. 1-1-1 mix 5ml per gallon. Feed that once and R/O water twice. Anything but R/O or distilled ends up killing them. Remember there is no flushing out here , once they start to go it's too late.

They lights a good Idea but I would pop the top off the tron and put the light over top. Kind of lay the plants out the sides a little to open up the middle. You could see some good results. It's all about learning your system.

Then again I have been known to be wrong.

Aye it's possible they got entangled and/or root bound in their. Yeah he mainly sprayed them with an old bug spray bottle(long since sanitized) usually every 2-3 days. I think it's the light being to close also,i constantly move it or the phototron back and keeps putting them back. I watered his plants with bout a gallon of water in total of 4 times,3 with nutes and the last time was pure tap water last wednesday. Do you think they are saveable or should we just scrap it?Only been 3 weeks or so in flowering, but they look pretty unhappy.

Put up 2 lil fans, one blowing in the open panel where the lights shining and one in through a smaller side panel in back. This tron doesnt open up in the top,it's a pretty older one actually. Going to see if I can get the big one into my room as I've got room in there. The smell that comes off these is almost like a sweet candy, but mixed with a nice funky smell. I'd really like to save at least this one and help my pops out more than anything. Will give you an update in a couple days.

i dont know much about photo trons, but it sounds like your concentration of ferts for foliar feeding is super high for one thing. So some of the problems your seeing is probably due to photo toxicity.

Second, foliar feeding does not make up for regular feeding via the roots. So your probably also seeing some deficiences mixed in with your light burn and poor air circulation. Dont foliar feed with reg water, it can actually draw nutes out of your leaves. Only do this if your humidty is drastically low for some reason.

To save these girls (if they were mine) get some fans, stat, or you will be seeing mold and pests very soon. Cut out the foliar feeding and feed a 1/4 or 1/2 strength nute solution by actual watering. Make sure you ph adjust this water, and ph the outgoing water to make sure your root zone is in an optimum place to start sucking up those nutes. Then wait and see I reckon. Check on your nutes, im not familiar with sugar daddy but earth juice s/b 1/2 to 1 tbsp a gallon, not 4. Just double check and reread everything you can find on the products your using!

Earth Juice Bloom- 2 Tsp per gallon
    Sugardaddy- 4 Tsp per gallon
    ^^
those were the measurements that were recommended on the bottles as normal strength dose. But thats the same amount I used for each of my plants and both were doing very well. I gave them a gallon of water to help them out as well as start it off and have one fan going 24/7. I've also got a bottle of Earth Juice Grow(2-1-1),would this help some?
