    Help with new Aeroponics setup

Ok the drip system was being a pain in my ars so I made an aeroponics/DWC system. Its all in one res so eventually it will be part DWC. This is my second go round as I killed all but 2 of my 1st crop which are still struggling to survive. Idk if I should let them die or not but the gf insists on giving them a chance. The NL and afgan x mazar are thriving, I must brag after my 1st round.

So anyhow my temps are a lot better now around 79-85 at the most, sweet. Res temps are at 77 running 24/0 and wondering if I should fix my timer to come off and on? I can set it in increments of 15 minutes off and on every 15 if I want to. What do you guys recommend??

Ill post pics when my gf brings my good camera over tomorrow.

    Help with new Aeroponics setup

it might be just me but im not sure if i really under stand the question. what are you trying to use a timer 2 come on and off for? if its for your misters, some people do 15 min bursts and some people perfer to run them 24/7 . if this is your question and i was you, if your rez was in a seperate container i would run the sprayers 24/7 but since your doing a combo, your plants will allready be sitting in oxygen rich water and wouldnt be needed.however, if you have your pump set to turn of and on every 15 min for 24 hours your going to burn your pump out a lot faster than you would just letting it run continuesly.but if its a smaller grow you can pick up the aqua culter pumps made by hydro farm for verry little money at any hydroponics store.its one of the few products from my local company that is not a piece of crap, but i have about 10 of there pumps in different gpm's and i have never had one fail.

Well when I leave it running 24/7 the roots, rapid rooters and hydroton are totally soaked. I want them to dry a little and get soaked again right? My thoughts were soaking them all the time was over watering? Right now have it set to water for 15 minutes every 4 hours and they seem to be doing ok. Much better now that I added four 26watt daylight cfls to my 90 watt ufo leds. Oh an the water is sittng about three inches below the net pots right now and the only way they get water is from the micro sprayers. Roots were coming out all sides of the rapid rooters a few days ago but have yet to come out of the net pots. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

well i would use only hydroten if doing 24/0 or neoprin inserts,no other medium.i would keep your watering just the way it is if you have experienced any problems yet,if its not broken, dont fix it. as for misting, how is your grow set up,the only thing that should be getting any sort of mist is the bottom portion of the roots, see if you can move your sprayer down so there not hitting the bottom,of your RR, if the roots arent long enough to give your self space you could hand water for a couple of days until the root mass gets longer,or fill your system to the top and use it like a regular dwc, once your roots get longer you could drop the water level again and turn those jets on.

    Help with new Aeroponics setup

I have been running aeroponics for two years, and got rid of the drip system over a year and a half ago.

    I run my foggers 24/7.

Here is a pic and you can just barely see the red glow from the fogger.

You might want to consider getting your reservoir temp down into the low 60's.

To my expereince with aero you have to way to go with the pumps, going all the time or using a recycle timer that lets you spray like 1min on, four mins off(recommended). The best results would be to use the timer but turning your pump on and off like that works the shit out of it and your putting yourself in a position for pump failure and then your just fucked if you dont catch it! I run min all the time and think it's pretty dam good way to go.
Couple of things to watch for is to make sure whatever you are using as a root chamber needs to be 100% light proof and I would think about using hydroguard, or companion or h202, cause its a perfect place for funk to develope!
Watch your ppm too, because of it's efficiency you usually dont need as high of nutes as what you would use in hydro. good luck
