My leaves are rolling into balls!!! Help please

    Automatic Lemon Skunk

    indoor
    hydroponic
    Rockwool and Hydrotin
Hydro - bubbleponics ( two airstones and lower feed drip twice a day)
Half tap water half RO water - PH 6.0
    4 weeks from seed
    Technaflora Recipe for success nutrients
the box says my ppm is around 1000 after nutes added
Four 40 watt CFLs, 2700k, 10000 lumens, 5in from tops
    temps - 80 F to 85 F
    humidity - 30 - 40 %
    18/6 lighting
    direct air conditioning
Did you pre-soak your media in pH corrected solution? YES

The res is about two weeks old with 3/4th strength nutes. I changed it today with fresh RO water and full strength nutes. Is it a deficiency?

    Thanks to anybody who helps

80-85 degrees F is too hot. Do you have a fan in the growspace? If not, you need to put a small to medium sized oscillating fan there for two reasons - one is to carry hot air away and two is to knock the plants around a little. This will cause the trunks (stems) to strengthen so they won't fall over. Try to bring in fresh cooler air if you can and exhaust the warm air. Some growers use ducting with fans attached to holes in walls and ceilings to get the hot air out and the cool air in. I think the brown patches you see are heat damage.

What you are seeing is not related to the temperature of the room. Though a little high, the problem you're seeing is obviously related to the reservoir.
There is definitely something reservoir related going on, possibly trace elements.
    Try just tap water?
RO lacks just about everything hence the lower PPM. So you should probably be using something for trace elements.
We need more info about your res. though..

    Air stone?
    Is it home made?
Do you know the temp of your res?
Can you see roots? If so, are they healthy?

    Hope this helps,
    Bob.

Bob, I think you're right right but the temps at 85 is too too hot, but then I looked at the pics again and with the spotting and leaf tip curl, it could actually be a combination of things. The leaves looked like they're starting to wilt some but I don't know if that's from an overwater condition since it's hydro or what. Lack of control is a problem with hydro grows. You really got to know what you're doing. I hope these problems can be solved.

Im using a home made "bubbleponics" setup. It consists of an 18 gal rubbermaid tub with two 14" airstones at the bottom hooked up to a dual output airpump. One 200gph water pump that feeds each pot twice a day (bottom feed drip?). I have it filled with 10 gallons of RO water and full strength "recipe for sucess" bloom nutes. This consists of:

    B.C. Boost
    B.C. Bloom
    Awesome Blossoms
    Thrive Alive B1 Red
    MagiCal
    Sugar Daddy

I have no idea what the temp of the res is, but the room sits at a steady 80 F. I just checked the temps at the top of the leafs and its at 81 F. The roots are LONG and in the water, maybe three feet on one of them! They dont feel slimy and are white.

I am starting to think it was some sort of deficiency. Ever since i changed the res with fresh water and new nutes the plants have improved. One of the leafs that was curled up even fixed itself. Is there something else i should be adding to my res besides whats listed above when using RO water? Thanks again guys!

So this is more than likely a combination of Over feeding and a salt buildup. You're also seeing a Phosphorus deficiency which could be potentially be caused by a lock out if the pH is fluctuating a lot or if the salt buildup has been substantial enough.

You need to try a flush, or cut back on your nutes a full 50% because you are more than likely over feeding as well.

Why are you using bloom and blossom builders if you're only 4 weeks from seed?
Roots sound healthy , avoid touching them with your hands though.. we're breeding grounds for bacteria.

Change your res weekly as well, or 7-10 days.

Now to think of it, that could be the reason and cause. Not changing your res will raise PPM while, topping it up will dilute it.
    Full res. changes are important!

    Have fun,
    Bob. :smokin:
