    vertical or horizontal light position

generally speaking: vertical grows have the light in the center and the plants surrounding it. no reflector is used

a 250 is small to get technical. just use it as it is and enjoy your smoke. dont worry about producing a little bit more then normal. I would'nt use anything less then a 600 if it were me. Vertical without reflector is great for using all of the light if you place your plants around the light. if you use a reflector then i would suggest Horizontal with reflector the vertical cones or Parabolic reflectors are outdated and work very poorly. the Horizontal is easier and shoots the light straight down. you will lose some light that is being reflected back down.
