Window box help
put your vent in a piece of plywood, and paint the whole thing black. put the piece of plywood over the window, black side out. leave the blinds (or put some blinds) between the window and the plywood. use tape (duct or aluminum) to seal up any light leaks.
from the inside the room will appear empty. don't forget a carbon scurbber if you are going to exhaust this way. you might be better off pulling in fresh air and exhausting somewhere else.
-shakeheadshake Reviewed by headshake on . Window box help I'm setting up my room today and I have a question about my exhaust. My window measures 46.5"x46.5"x6" and I was told to frame a box to the window to attach my exhaust fan. I was thinking about using cedar since it has anti insect properties but can anyone offer any other advice? i'm somewhat in the dark as to building this box. I guess my question is can someone tell me (1) how do I make the window appear "normal" from the outside in, and (2) what is the best way I should go about framing it? Rating: 5
