    New flowering room and pics

With your help and much reading I have started this new flowering room.

I hope you enjoy the pics so far as I hope to update the progress over time.

For now these pics are just from my flowering room. I hope to post pics from my cloneing and vegitative room soon. I begin flowering at about 2 to three weeks at this point when the plants reach about 12 inches. They are pruned about a week before I put them into flowering. I must do this because there is limited height available in my flowering room.

This is a drip system with plants in clay hydronton.

I am hopeing that this thread will inspire comments from the experienced and help the starter see new ideas maybe.

Let me know what you think please and all the best to you all.

This picture is the start of my flowering room and shows bed on on the left and bed two on the right. I am still in construction as I work a full time job many hours away and the transportation time limits me on progress.

This is a closer picture of bed one. These plants arree on day 15 of flowering.

    More to come...

I tried to create an auotmated system of sorts. I use pumps to feed the plants on a drip system using 25 gallon tanks underneath the beds. I have float valves that keep the tanks filled. I find that pumping out the tanks every 6 to 7 days and changing the nutrients is good for 25 gallons.

Here is bed 4 ready to take new plants. The spagetti tubes arree just hekd into place for now with clothespins. The underside is actually another bed without the drainholes drilled. I found this would allow me nore vertical space for the plants above..

Here is picture of the float valve under the tank. I move the underneath tank out for easy acess when I change nutrients.

Not so good a picture but perhaps you can see the tubes pumping out water and nutrients here. I split the tubes to cover the clay pelets.

    Hello oxyvodka,

Not all your pics are comming thru but the one's that did are great. Looks like a nice set-up.
Not sure why the problem with pics uploading, but it will be easier once you have 50 posts, then you can upload directly instead of thru photobucket.
    Good luck and good growing.

    Thanks oldmac.

I am heading up into the mountians again tonight. The room is actually built into the side of a mountian. That was a ton of work. Good for temps but humidity is tough to control.

Every trip brings new rewards and challenges. I have lots of pics but will not be a bore with them all. I am quite pleased so far, for a first timer I have tried to read through and follow advice ... almost too much.

By the way this is completely legal and I am working with my local co-op. I have a few patient partners, so this is not about profit. I am trying to grow a strain that is best for cancer patients. But more on that later when I learn more about posting, pictures, and compters. Between my full time job and this new endeavor, I have little time to post.

    Thank you for the support.

I am hopeing this works today. This is a side view of beds one and two. Bed two is 5 days younger into flowering. The temps in the room are steady at 73 degrees. The humidity tends to get high. I have a 1100 cfm blower with an air scrubber with three intakes and filters. I also use multiple fans, so i am hopeing the 60% plus humidity will be ok until I can hook up a dehumidifyer.

The strain is called Black Kush. It is a cross of Purple Dominica and MK Ultra. Would love to hear from anybody familiar with this strain.

    Hey Bickey!

I'm a big fan of yours and have followed your entire adventure. Thanks for responding. As far as I know not many peoople are growing this strain because the seed bank was unreliable, sending out way too many males.

Speaking of big colas...it just so happens tonight at the mother ship where I moved my flowering room away from, we harvested our first generation of this strain.

This was from an original mother we flowered off. Not a very good picture as it was taken with a cell phone. This main cola had a wet weight of 105 grams.

Do you know what to expect for a ratio of wet to dry weight? In a general sort of way.

Thanks again Bickey. Good to hear from you.

My god, that is amazing. I have read that usually the ratio is about 75% of the weight is lost with a good dry/cure.

    Thank you bonedaddy420.

You know what I think is interesting is that there may not be any hard and fast ratio.. Maybe one strain bulks more and looses less?? I dunno..

You are right. 75% loss is the norm but I always feel compeled to ask.

This last bud shown was actually a bit of a mistake. So we had good lights, but not enough space. The plants were competeing and grew too high too fast. The results were big central colas under 600 watts over 4X4 space.

The result was, when it came time to flush, the buds were so heavy and big that regardles of the ventalation and temp the wieght forced us to harvest early. In this case maybe only a few days.

Four days after flush began the heavy tops toppled and literaly bent the plants over. Takeing a few innnocents with her. Fortunately the innocents will make a great hash because there is so much resin production.

If the picture of the big bud was better it would show that a few more days would have been perfect. Still, the medicine will be great. I was just loooking for a less cerebral high and more of a body buzz that induces an appitite and longer pain killer.

Here is what I am doing more of now.

Here you can see the clones from the vegitative garden getting "trained" to fill an even canopy, we can hopefully get less of a lanky grow to a more solid and even the production of buds. Of course there may not be any more huge colas??? Just more of the smaller ones that are pefectly ripened and ready to cure properly. *my hopes are high*

Thanks bonedaddy. Hope to hear from you soon. I will check out your grow as well.
