Making THC candy with coconut oil instead of butter
Have any of you candy makers had any luck using infused coconut oil instead of cannabutter?
I just tried two different batches just substituting equal amount of oil instead of butter and the oil never incorporated. I followed the recipe exactly.
-2 cups sugar
-1/4 cup light corn syrup
-1/2 cup CANNABUTTER (I used real butter, 1.5 sticks and a bit over 1/4 oz of good bud/some trim...after cooking and a good squeeze through the seive it came out to the 1/2 cup)
-2 tablespoons water
-2 tablespoons white wine vinegar (NOT red or apple)
bring that mix slowly to 300 degrees
I've done this with butter and it incorporated nicely, but not with the oil. I figured that coconut oil must be somewhat similar in properties to butter (saturated fat-wise)
any thoughts?ysobro Reviewed by ysobro on . Making THC candy with coconut oil instead of butter Have any of you candy makers had any luck using infused coconut oil instead of cannabutter?
